The Red Devils are now prepared to pull out a transfer for him because of the £68m asking price slammed on him by Sporting Lisbon.
Manchester United don’t want to pay more than £50m for Bruno Fernandes who’s a goalscoring midfielder going by his performances for Sporting Lisbon in the last two seasons.
He has eight goals and seven assists in the league alone for Sporting Lisbon this season including a brace in the recent 3-1 win over rivals Victoria Setubal though he was unable to prevent his team from suffering a 2-0 loss at home to another rival in Benfica.
Rafa Silva came off the bench to score the goals for Benfica.
