Manchester United legend Paul Scholes is confident Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s team will score many goals if they sign highly-rated and experienced playmaker Mesut Ozil who is surprisingly finding it hard to break into Unai Emery’s team.
The ex-Germany international hasn’t featured in the Gunners match-day squad in the last five matches in all competitions as he appeared to have fallen out of favor with the former PSG manager.
Scholes has advised his old club to make a move for the Gunners’ highest paid player because his creativity will be a huge advantage to Solskjaer’s side at the middle of the pitch.
“Man Utd could do with someone like Ozil who can link a team together. [He is] a player who can link teams together. He has got great quality, he’s shown that in his career,”

Considering Ozil’s age, Scholes predicted that the German could be lured to Old Trafford as part of their desire to provide a quick and short-term solution to their lack of creativity in the team.
“He could be an answer short-term, I don’t know. I think that would be up to him, ultimately. I can’t [see it happening], but he’s the type of player, short-term, who United could do with.” he concluded.
It should be recalled that United was in the race to sign the former Real Madrid star during Mourinho’s reign at Old Trafford but the Gunners were brave enough to hand him a bumper contract extension which sees him earn £350,000 per-week.
