Manchester United Told To Sign World Cup Winner

Mesut Ozil

Manchester United legend Paul Scholes is confident Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s team will score many goals if they sign highly-rated and experienced playmaker Mesut Ozil who is surprisingly finding it hard to break into Unai Emery’s team.

The ex-Germany international hasn’t featured in the Gunners match-day squad in the last five matches in all competitions as he appeared to have fallen out of favor with the former PSG manager.

Scholes has advised his old club to make a move for the Gunners’ highest paid player because his creativity will be a huge advantage to Solskjaer’s side at the middle of the pitch.

“Man Utd could do with someone like Ozil who can link a team together. [He is] a player who can link teams together. He has got great quality, he’s shown that in his career,”

Considering Ozil’s age, Scholes predicted that the German could be lured to Old Trafford as part of their desire to provide a quick and short-term solution to their lack of creativity in the team.

“He could be an answer short-term, I don’t know. I think that would be up to him, ultimately. I can’t [see it happening], but he’s the type of player, short-term, who United could do with.” he concluded.

It should be recalled that United was in the race to sign the former Real Madrid star during Mourinho’s reign at Old Trafford but the Gunners were brave enough to hand him a bumper contract extension which sees him earn £350,000 per-week.

Olivier Giroud

There has been suggestions that Chelsea striker Olivier Giroud could leave the club in the winter transfer window in January but the player might need to wait for next summer according to the publication from the stables of The Sun.

Giroud has found it hard to play regularly for Chelsea due to the form of Tammy Abraham who has scored 12 goals in all competitions for the West London giants.

The lack of match action has prompted Giroud to consider his options ahead of the January transfer window as he tries to keep his place in the French national team starting XI with the 2020 European Championships on the horizon.

The aforementioned report said that the interested clubs are ready to wait till next summer to sign Olivier Giroud on a free transfer rather than spend money to secure his transfer in January.

Giroud has six months remaining on his Chelsea deal at the moment meaning that the 33-year-old striker can start to speak with the foreign clubs as from January 1 over a free transfer move.

The Frenchman joined Chelsea from fellow London rivals Arsenal in January 2018 and he has already won the Europa League title with them.

Arsenal received £18m for his transfer to Chelsea.

Interim Arsenal manager Freddie Ljungberg has been advised to drop defender David Luiz from his starting XI for the upcoming league clash with fellow London side West Ham United.

Freddie Ljungberg was advised by former Arsenal teammate and fellow club legend Martin Keown.

According to the Daily Mail, Martin Keown said that interim Arsenal manager Ljungberg needs to drop David Luiz from his team or switch to a three-man defence because the Brazilian international likes to drop too deep thereby causing problem for the other defenders.

Arsenal signed David Luiz from fellow London side Chelsea in the summer for a fee believed to be around £8m.

David Luiz has played in all but one league game since his arrival from Chelsea in the summer.

The Brazilian international centre back was seen as the man to finally bring calm to the Arsenal defence but the opposite has been the case.

With David Luiz in the Arsenal XI, the team has kept just one clean sheet in 14 league games and that was the Bournemouth game at home.

David Luiz scored the only goal of the game as the Gunners beat Bournemouth 1-0 at the Emirates Stadium courtesy the first half strike from the Brazilian centre back.

West London giants Chelsea are reportedly targeting five new players ahead of the January transfer window after their ban was lifted on Friday.

Chelsea were given a big boost following the news that they can now sign players as from the January transfer window.

The Blues didn’t sign players in the summer after world football’s governing body FIFA slammed them with a two-window transfer ban for breaking the rules relating to the signing of young players.

Chelsea appealed the ruling but it was thrown out by FIFA and that prompted the club to take the matter to the Court of Arbitration for Sports (CAS).

The CAS verdict held on Friday partially upheld the ruling from FIFA but the transfer ban was reduced to just one window which has already been served.

According to the Daily Mail, the Blues are now targeting five players in the transfer window including Brentford star Said Benhrama who plays for the Algerian national team.

Others on the list include Crystal Palace winger Wilfried Zaha and former Blues defender Nathan Ake.

Borussia Dortmund winger Jadon Sancho is a top performer for his German club and he’s on the radar of Chelsea alongside Leicester City defender Ben Chilwell.
