West London outfit Chelsea are reported to be making moves to snap up the signature of German Bundesliga outfit Bayern Munich defender Jerome Boateng just after winning the Champions League with his club.

Jerome Boateng will be a free agent at the end of the season and Chelsea are keen on landing him to make him the second free signing after Thiago Silva from French Ligue 1 outfit Paris Saint Germain.

After enjoying the service of the experienced Brazilian, the Blues are hoping to get the same service from the 32-year-old German who has been a rock at the back for Bayern Munich.

Jerome Boateng will also welcome the idea of the Premier League as he was with Man City some years back but was unable to prove his ability until he left for the German Bundesliga club.

The 32-year-old is not keen to leave Bayern Munich as he sought for an extension of his deal but he has been denied. He will now be a free agent at the end of the season with clubs expected to line up for his signature in the summer. The three top London club – Chelsea, Tottenham, and Arsenal are reported to be monitoring the situation and seek to land him.

It is understood that Frank Lampard will be happy with the idea of having te two experienced players as his central defender, especially after seeing the impact of Thiago Silva in his team at the moment.

Should the West London outfit succeed, then both defenders will impact greatly on Kurt Zouma who is also standing tall to his responsibilities as he has enjoyed a perfect pairing with Thiago Silva.

However, Chelsea will seem to grant Thiago Silva his wish of extending his stay at Stamford Bridge for a minimum of a year after he claims to be enjoying life at Chelsea.
