Arsenal manager Mikel Aretta has revealed the reason why Gabon international forward Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is not scoring goals at the moment.
The former Borussia Dortmund forward has been the Gunners’ highest goal scorer for the past two seasons, delivering at least 20 goals but this season seems to be proving otherwise as he has shot blank in the last few Premier League games.
The Gunners boss has called on players to help Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang to return to his best following the 3-0 humiliating defeat suffered against Aston Villa in the Premier League clash at the weekend.
Mikel Arteta noted that the blame for not scoring can not be on Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang alone, stressing that it is a collective thing by the entire team to achieve.

However, he noted that Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has an issue with his positioning and movements, He revealed the entire team will work on it to get better.
“A team function is a collective thing that we have to do more” Arteta told the press after Arsenal’s defeat against Aston Villa.
“We certainly are getting in some situations, but the end product is something we have to improve and about the position and his movement and where we can find him
“Of course we can talk about this the right or wrong place for him, but when things were working and he was scoring that debate wasn’t there” he concluded.
Mikel Arteta therefore, maintained that there is a need for his team to get better in the defense and offense to be able to get close to the top but in the long run, there is a need to improve the entire team.
Fans have argued that Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang stopped scoring goals the moment he was handed a new and improved deal by the club earlier this season.
