West London outfit Chelsea seem to have woken up to their responsibilities with three games without a defeat, including a 4-0 win against Krasnodar in the Champions League on Wednesday night.
The Blues team did not start the season on a good note as they struggled to win games and conceded goals in their first four games of the season but that has improved and Edouard Mendy has been hailed for ensuring this resurgence.
Chelsea invested £22 million on the former Rennes shot-stopper and it seems to be the best summer transfer decision they made after he helped stabilize the team and stopped the conceding of unnecessary goals with his superb saves.
Obviously, Edouard Mendy is one of the things Frank Lampard was missing in his team before now. The Senegal international has now nailed the first-choice spot ahead of Kepa Arrizabalaga.

Chelsea have kept three successive clean sheets in the Champions League and Premier League which is the first time it is happening under manager Frank Lampard since he took the job last year.
It is also fair to stay that the presence of Thiago Silva has also helped to sort out the Blues defence and manager Frank Lampard might not need to worry about that again.
Kepa Arrizabalga was the first choice goalkeeper but he lost his place to unacceptable blunders that cost the team many points. He has now been relegated and it will only take the injury of the Senegal international to have him return for a first-choice role.
Meanwhile, Frank Lampard has already included retired goalkeeper Petr Cech to the club’s Premier League 25-man squad for the season as he will be banking on his experience to help the team and it will not be a surprise if the former Arsenal goalkeeper is given the goal post to mount in any of the games before the end of the season.
