The unusual happen on Saturday when Portuguese international Bruno Fernandes missed a penalty against Newcastle in their 4-1 Premier League win.

Bruno Fernandes has had 10 penalties converted since he became a Man United player in January last year. It has been a perfect experience but that has now come to an end after the Saturday miss.

When asked after the game, he stated that he mistakenly changed his penalty approach and that was what led to missing it.

Bruno Fernandes admitted that what he did against Newcastle was different from what he has been doing and it did not work out for him. He explained that he wanted to put the ball more in the corner but it did not work for him.

The Portuguese international therefore congratulated Newcastle goalkeeper for being the first to save his penalty in the English Premier League as he has had six penalty goals more than any player in the league.

However, the next thing for Bruno Fernandes is to keep improving himself to be able to do better in subsequent games as Man United have been handed more penalties than any other club this season.

Meanwhile, the Red Devils defender Harry Maguire noted that the club still has a lot to learn as they are yet to be in their best.
