Chelsea legend Alan Hudson has lamented the unfair treatment given to Blues summer transfer signing Timo Werner, noting that he has continued to struggle in the current set up of the team.

Alan Hudson blames this Timo Werner situation on the faulty tactics of manager Frank Lampard as he has failed to give the new signing the opportunity to strive.

He noted that he feels sorry for Timo Werner because he makes some great runs but not being recognized for that to get the ball at the right time because Frank Lampard seems to be more defensive-minded in his tactics to avoid conceding more goals.

Alan Hudson lamented that Timo Werner might stop making these runs if he doesn’t get the ball often, noting that almost every goal he has scored, he has had to create them himself.

“It’s like Mane and Salah at Liverpool- If they make runs, they get the ball, because that is how Klopp wants the team to perform going forward, Even after losing 7-2 (to Aston Villa) he hasn’t stopped playing the way that won them the Champions League and the Premier League, and Frank is nowhere that level of thinking”. He narrated.

Timo Werner is a forward going player and he is not used to a defensive pattern of the game which will make him struggle to live up to expectation at the Stamford Bridge.

However, Frank Lampard has been told that he must improve his game or admit that he is not good enough for the club, especially in their bid to win top honours.

Frank Lampard’s job is currently in the air as he is being criticized for the inconsistent performance and the result of the team. It is feared he would be sacked if the situation does not improve. There are speculations that the club is already in talks for a mew manager.
