The German international has been dipped in a lot of controversies at the Emirates Stadium and that has led to affecting his game. He has not played any competitive match for the club since last season.
The woes of the former Real Madrid player started when he was omitted from the Europa League squad and that means he will no longer play for Arsenal again until his contract expires in the summer.

Former Arsenal player Jack Wilshere seems to be speaking in defence of the Arsenal outcast by taking a swipe at the Gunners over their latest decision.
According to Jack Wilshere, Mesut Ozil is the best player at the Emirates Stadium despite being axed from the team.
Meanwhile, BBC reporter Gary Lineker quoted Mesut Ozil’s statement and wrote “Every footballer wants to play”. “Not being able to, regardless of salary, is soul-destroying”
Howbeit, the fate of Mesut Ozil at Arsenal is still unknown as he might remain at the club until the summer as he has always insisted or leave in the January winter transfer window.
