Folarin Balogun, an Arsenal youngster with a Nigerian link has been hailed as one of the biggest prospects in the Gunners youth teams but he could be lost on a free transfer next year.

The young striker is desperate to begin a senior team career with regular playing time and it is obvious that he cannot get that opportunity at the Emirates Stadium any time soon. This is the reason why he has refused to sign a new deal with the club despite efforts to convince him.

With his contract set to expire next summer and no deal in place for Folarin Balogun, he will remain at the club for the season and leave for a new challenge without any financial benefit on Arsenal’s path.

It is understood that Sheffield United are already weighing up the chances of landing the Arsenal teenager when he become s a free player but there is no doubt that he will not be lacking in suitors as he is highly rated at the Emirates Stadium.

There are suggestions that things could be sorted out between the player and the club but from all indications, Folarin Balogun has made his mind to leave for a new challenge.
