The coming of Brazilian international Gabriel Magalhaes to the English Premier League has been hailed by many as he has settled to solve some of the defensive worries of the club.

Gabriel Magalhaes signed for the North London outfit from the French Ligue 1 outfit Lille in the summer transfer window for a fee of about £27 million, with Arsenal beating Italian Serie A club Napoli for his signature.

However, it would have been more difficult for the North London outfit to strike such a deal without the help of Ivory Coast international and former Lille star Nicolas Pepe.

Gabriel Magalhaes has revealed that speaking to his former Lille player was one of the reasons that made it easy for him to make a decision as he was also attracting interest with a bigger offer from Italy.

He revealed to Sky Sports that Nicolas Pepe had given him some words before joining the club and that made it very easy to join as well as settle at the club.

Gabriel Magalhaes has since settled well in the Mikel Arteta team and no doubt a force to reckon with, especially helping the club to win three games from their first five matches in the Premier League.

He has also impressed to have been voted the player of the month with a goal already registered for the club.
