Former Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has a lot to say about his reign as the manager of the North London outfit and they were well documented in his autobiography book titled “Arsene Wenger, My life in Red and White”
The autobiography would have been incomplete without mentioning the Luis Suarez and how he almost landed him at the Emirates Stadium from Liverpool before he eventually joined Spanish La Liga outfit Barcelona.
Arsene Wenger noted that before Luis Suarez finished the 2013/2014 season as the highest goal scorer, he was being monitored for a move to the Emirates Stadium.

The Frenchman stated that Luis Suarez’s agent had informed Arsenal that they can only secure the signature of the Uruguayan by activating his £40 million release clause which was worth investing on.
Arsene Wenger noted that the agent was not sincere in his claim as there was nothing like a release clause in the contract after he signed for Spanish La Liga outfit Barcelona.
He stressed that Liverpool did not want to sell the player and that is the reason why the move failed before he eventually joined Spanish outfit Barcelona.
Several other players with big profiles were reportedly linked with a move to Arsenal under Arsene Wenger but the deal collapsed
