The emerging report has revealed that Arsenal’s summer transfer target, Jorginho could sign a new contract at Chelsea that will keep him at the club for more years.

The Italian international was linked away from the Stamford Bridge in the summer transfer window after it was claimed that he is no longer favoured at the club and wants a new challenge.

It was reported that Jorginho will come in as a replacement for Lucas Torreira who has now joined Spanish La Liga outfit Atletico Madrid, especially if Thomas Partey had not signed.

The North London outfit eventually did not sign Jorginho but opted for Ghanaian international midfielder Thomas Partey, yet the Chelsea man is yet to find a club.

It is now being reported that the West London outfit will open talks with the former Napoli midfielder in the next few days with regards to an extension to his current contract.

Jorginho was also linked with a move to unite with his former boss Maurizio Sarri at the Italian Serie A outfit Juventus but that has passed as the Italian boss has been sacked.

The Chelsea midfielder will be forced to stay and fight for his place in the Frank Lampard team if he must find playing time this season.
