Three-time European champions Manchester United are one of five Premier League teams set to be interested in signing David Brooks from South Coast club Bournemouth before the transfer deadline on Friday night.

The Premier League transfer deadline expired on Monday, October 5 but clubs in the division can still sign players from the lower leagues of English football until the end of Friday, October 15.

The Daily Mail has revealed that Manchester United and four others from the Premier League are in the race to sign the £40m-rated David Brooks.

The other Premier League teams are Liverpool, Leicester City, Everton and Tottenham Hotspur.

Welsh international midfielder David Brooks signed for Bournemouth in the summer of 2018 and his time on the South Coast has been disturbed by several injury problems.

He joined the Cherries from Sheffield United while the Blades were still in the English Championship.

David Brooks has scored eight goals in 46 appearances for Bournemouth.

The 23-year-old missed the majority of last season as a result of injury as the Cherries suffered demotion from the Premier League into the English Championship.

Manchester United have already signed five players in this transfer window, including the four that joined on the Premier League transfer deadline.
