Thomas Lemar

Arsenal announced the signature of Thomas Party from Spanish La Liga outfit Atletico Madrid on the transfer deadline day but that was not the only signing the Gunners wet for.

The North London outfit were reported to be interested in the signature of Thomas Lemar in the just concluded transfer window and made efforts as he was out of favour at the club.

AS reports that Atletico Madrid wanted t let go of the player for the £63.3 million that was invested on him from French Ligue 1 outfit Monaco in 2018 but Diego Simeone had a last-minute change in mind.

Diego Simeone is reported to want to give Thomas Lemar a lifeline at Atletico Madrid to have him find his mojo back and that will happen by giving him more playing time this season.

The French midfielder failed to provide a single goal or assist for the Spanish La Liga outfit last season with the opportunities given to him but that might change with the new faith invested in him for the new season.

However, Arsenal was not alone in the chase of Thomas Lemar as Premier League club Wolves, FC Porto, and Everton also showed interest in his signature with a report claiming that he is interested in a move to England.
