Sporting Lisbon has decided to take a major step to stop Arsenal’s target, Nuno Mendes, from leaving the club.

English Premier League outfit Arsenal are part of the clubs that have indicated an interest in the teenage star and that is well known to Sporting Lisbon but to fend off interest from the player, they are making efforts to secure is future.

Nuno Mendes has been with the Portugal U-21 national team and he has been tipped to be a part of the senior national team in the nearest future, having proven that he can deliver at a bigger stage.

A Bola report claims Sporting Lisbon are now making efforts to hand a new contract and an improved salary to the player so as to have his current 45 million euros increased.

According to the report, the new contract that will be handed to Nuno Mendes will have him remain at the club until 2025.

The North London outfit have done enough to secure new deals and they are reportedly making moves to do more for both the first team and the youth teams.

The new project at Arsenal is to have a productive team with results both now and in the future.
