Wolverhampton Wanderers manager Nuno Espirito Santo has approved a move for Liverpool midfielder Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain according to the Daily Mirror.

It was disclosed that Wolves are already in talks with Liverpool over the England international after Nuno Espirito Santo gave his approval.

Ex-Arsenal player Chamberlain has moved down the pecking order in the Liverpool midfield with the signing of Thiago Alcantara from German Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich.

Thiago Alcantara was a major component of the Bayern Munich midfield as the Bavarian giants won an impressive treble.

Liverpool have paid an initial fee of £20m for the Spanish international. The Reds could pay £7m more in add-ons.

With addition of Thiago Alcantara, Chamberlain will have to fight for three midfield spots only with seven others.

Jordan Henderson, James Milner, Fabinho, Georginio Wijnaldum, Thiago Alcantara, Naby Keita, Curtis Jones and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain are all vying for the three midfield spots at Liverpool this season.

With this stiff competition in mind, Chamberlain could move to Wolves after just two-and-a-half season at Anfield.

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain signed for Liverpool from Arsenal in a £25m transfer with add-ons taking the deal to the £40m.

Wolves have already done two businesses with Liverpool this summer in the shape of Diogo Jota and Ki-Jana Hoever. Chamberlain could be their third business together.
