According to Italian media portal L’Arena, Chelsea must see off Tottenham Hotspur, Inter Milan and Lazio to sign the 20-year-old Albanian international before next month.

Marash Kumbulla was born in Italy but he has already been capped by Albania. He’s attracting a lot of interest from far and near after a stellar campaign for Hellas Verona in the Italian Serie A.

Chelsea will face a very big threat for Kumbulla with London rivals Tottenham Hotspur. Spurs boss Jose Mourinho is desperate to bolster his options at centre back especially after the exit of Jan Vertoghen.
Belgian international Vertoghen has joined Portuguese giants Benfica on a free transfer this summer at the end of his deal at Tottenham Hotspur.
Mourinho saw his team suffer an opening weekend defeat in the Premier League this season following the 1-0 loss to Everton. His defence suffered against the Toffees and Mourinho will be looking for improvement in the form of new defensive signings.
