Chelsea striker Olivier Giroud has emerged as a shock transfer target for North London club Tottenham Hotspur.
According to Goal, Giroud has been linked with Spurs who have a depleted strikeforce after the injury to star striker Harry Kane.
The England national team skipper suffered a long-term hamstring injury earlier this month and it would rule him out of action for three months.
Harry Kane is not expected to feature for the North Londoners until April and that has forced Tottenham Hotspur into the transfer market.

Giroud was an Arsenal player until January 2018 before he joined Chelsea in an £18m deal and that would make it difficult for him to join Spurs who share a fierce rivalry with the Gunners.
Italian Serie A giants Inter Milan were thought to be close to a deal for him but they have not been able to agree a deal with Chelsea for him.
Olivier Giroud is desperate to leave Chelsea this month in search of regular playing time thereby boosting his chances of staying in the French national team XI ahead of the upcoming European Championships scheduled to take place in the summer.
He has six months left on his Chelsea contract meaning that the Frenchman will be available for a free transfer this summer.
