Liverpool join race for Arsenal, Man United target

English Premier League title holders Liverpool are the latest to join the race for German Bundesliga outfit RB Leipzig defender Dayot Upamecano ahead of the coming summer transfer window.

Dayot Upamecano was linked with a move to Man United and Arsenal in the last summer transfer window but none of them were able to snap up his signature while it is claimed that they will both make another trial next summer with the Red Devils keen.

All suitors have been encouraged by the fact that he is now opened to a move away from the German side despite recently signing a new deal as the club is opened to cashing in.

The Frenchman reportedly has a £36.5million release clause which becomes active next summer, a development the Reds will be banking on to make a move as well.

According to Sport Bild, Liverpool will make efforts to beat the Red Devils who are currently the favourites in this case as they will be able to convince the Frenchman with a Champions League football.

Meanwhile, Man United have more need for a defender as they have struggled for a viable partner with Harry Maguire as they have not been in their best since the start of the season.
