Arsenal failed in their attempts to lure Lyon midfielder Houssem Aouar away from the French Ligue 1 club during the just concluded transfer window but they could finally get their man when a new window comes around.
The next transfer window opens in a little under three months and that period could be the best to prise Aouar away from Lyon especially with the new development in France.
According to French publication L’Equipe, French Ligue 1 sponsors Media Pro has decided to hold on to the €140m payment due to the top flight clubs.

The French Ligue 1 clubs have already budgeted their own share of the €140m payment but the aforementioned report said that Media Pro wants to renegotiate the payment.
Lyon are in a difficult financial situation and the new development would be a significant blow for the former French champions as they plot to get out of their difficult financial situation.
The delay in payment could impact on Lyon and their hard stance on the potential sale of French player Aouar.
Arsenal were quoted €60m (£55m) for the player as they made several bids in the quest to sign him.
Lyon turned down several Arsenal offers but the Gunners could now have the opportunity to sign the player for a lesser amount than first requested by the French team if the financial problems persist.
