French Ligue 1 outfit Paris Saint Germain are reported to have missed out on the signature of Arsenal defender Sokratis Papa on the transfer deadline day despite indicating an interest.
Sokratis Papa has been told that he is no longer a part of the plans for the season and was expected to seal a move away. The 32-year-old was linked with a move to the Italian Serie A outfit Napoli but the club did not make any real interest.
Telefoot journalist Saber Desfarges reports that Paris Saint Germain manager Thomas Tuchel had asked the club to sign the Greece international, having worked with him at Borussia Dortmund.

It is reported that the French Ligue 1 outfit proposed a free transfer of the player as his contract will expire next summer but it was turned down by the North London outfit.
However, there are suggestions that there could be further considerations between the two clubs to have a deal sorted out by the January winter transfer window as there are no chances that Sokratis Papa will be given playing time in the next three months.
While the chances of cashing in on the sale of Sokratis Papa is now very slim, Arsenal are expected to find a buyer for the player before the winter transfer window opens.
