Spanish La Liga outfit Atletico Madrid have been able to confirm the signature of Uruguay midfielder Lucas Torreira from Arsenal on the transfer deadline day.
The 24-year-old could no longer be guaranteed a playing time under manage Mikel Arteta and was made to leave the club for that reason.
The North London outfit wanted a permanent move for the player but that could not happen as the Spanish La Liga outfit got him on a loan term but with an option of buy.

However, Arsenal have been rated to have benefitted more from the sale of the former Sampdoria midfielder because they have been able to get rid of some financial burdens.
More to it is the fact that Atletico Madrid could be forced to make a move for Lucas Torreira permanent as they have already lost Thomas Partey but that will be subject to his performance in the next one year.
Should Atletico Madrid make up their mind to make Lucas Torreira permanent, they will be forced to pay over £20 million to Arsenal for the Uruguay midfielder.
However, the relationship between the two clubs might have been battered by Arsenal’s move to activate Thomas Partey’s release clause with La Liga authorities, leaving Atletico Madrid in shock.
