Seven-time European champions AC Milan have pulled out of the race to sign Chelsea defender Antonio Rudiger, according to The Athletic.
The Rossoneri wanted to sign the German international until they were quoted a price deemed to be too expensive.
AC Milan have completed the loan signing of fullback Diogo Dalot from Manchester United and were hoping to add the aforementioned Rudiger as well.
The latest update means that London club Tottenham Hotspur, Spanish La Liga team Barcelona and French Ligue 1 outfit Paris Saint Germain (PSG) are left in the running to sign the player deemed to be surplus to requirements under Frank Lampard at Chelsea.

Chelsea signed a lot of players this summer and are keen to let some fringe players levae the club to lower their huge wage bill.
The aforementioned Antonio Rudiger is expected to be one of those players to leave the club.
He has been left out of the Chelsea squad for the past games.
The free transfer signing of Thiago Silva this summer has opened up a space for the exit of a centre back.
Fikayo Tomori was initially linked with an exit until recently when Frank Lampard decided to put Antonio Rudiger on the transfer list.
