Ex-Napoli and Paris Saint Germain (PSG) striker Edinson Cavani is expected to undergo his medicals at Manchester United after the club agreed a deal with him.

Edinson Cavani is a free agent after his contract with PSG ended last season.

The 33-year-old has agreed a two-year contract at Manchester United and he’s expected to earn £220,000 on a weekly basis.

Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has turned to the experience of Edinson Cavani as he believes that this would be valuable for the club on and off the pitch.

Cavani joined PSG from Italian Serie A side Napoli in a £55m deal in the summer of 2013 and he went on to become their leading goalscorer.

He scored 197 goals in 234 appearances for the French champions.

Cavani netted five times in 20 games in the last campaign as he battled several injury problems.

Manchester United were able to make a breakthrough in agent fees as regards the free transfer deal and might need to pay up to £10m.

Edinson Cavani came close to signing for Atletico Madrid before agent fees stopped the deal.

The Red Devils have turned their quest to strengthen their attack to the aforementioned Cavani after missing out on top target Jadon Sancho of Borussia Dortmund.
