EPL: Former Arsenal striker “returns” to EPL

A former Arsenal player, Yaya Sanogo is reportedly set for a shock return to the English Premier League as he is expected to join Middlesbrough on a free transfer.

Yaya Sanogo has just left the French side, Toulouse as a free player and has had an agreement with the English Premier League club for another trial after failing to impress in his first experience.

The 27-year-old striker spent four seasons with the North London outfit, from the 2013 season to the 2017 season, and was able to score just one goal in the 20 appearances that were given to him.

Before Yaya Sanogo parted ways with the north London outfit, he spent the 2015/2016 season on loan with Charlton where he also failed to impress before he was released by the club.

It is expected that Yaya Sanogo would have become a better player with Middlesbrough ready to give him the opportunity to prove what he can do again in the English Premier League.

Middlesbrough have been in the transfer market as well, making efforts to land a number of signings to be able to face the Premier League challenge in the coming season. The wish of the club is never to return to the Championship again.
