Man United are believed to be considering a swoop for French Ligue 1 outfit Paris Saint Germain striker Edison Cavani in this summer transfer window.

It is understood that despite being interested in a winger for the club this season, manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is also pushing for a striker that will help score more goals for his team.

Spanish outlet AS quoted by The Sun says Ole Gunnar Solskjaer wants to reinforce his attack with a striker and will not abandon his wish to have a winger as well.

Edison Cavani is wanted on a free transfer and it is reported that the Red Devils have held talks with his brother who also act as his agent over the possibility of striking a deal before the summer transfer window ends.

The major challenge to having a deal for Edison Cavani is his salary which might be too high for the Red Devils to pay owing to their huge financial commitment at the moment.

However, there is no doubt that it will be a great deal for the Red Devils to have the Uruguay international in the team, knowing his pedigree and having scored 200 goals in 301 games for the French Ligue 1 outfit in seven years.
