North London giants Arsenal have been cleared to sign their top transfer target as long as they are ready to pay his transfer fee.
This is according to the report via The Daily Telegraph which stated that the Gunners have been given the chance to sign Lyon skipper Houssem Aouar for £54m and that the player will still wait to make a final decision due to the presence of an unnamed Champions League club.
Houssem Aouar is a big target for Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta as he bids to improve the creativity from his midfield.
Arsenal star Mesut Ozil was saddled with the creative burden at the club but the retired German international is no longer at the peak of his powers.

Aouar is seen as his long-term replacement but the Gunners will have to snap him up from Lyon.
The Gunners made an offer of player plus cash at the start of the transfer window and are yet to make another bid after the first one was turned down.
Arsenal were ready to offer Matteo Guendouzi in a swap deal for Aouar who’s yet to make an appearance for the French national team.
He was a key player for Lyon who reached the Champions League semi-finals last season.
