Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has given the go ahead for the club to submit another bid for highly rated Lyon player Houssem Aouar.
According to French outlet Telefoot Chaine, the Gunners are about to submit a new offer of around £36m for the Lyon skipper.
Arsenal had earlier made an offer that was rejected by Lyon. The North Londoners offered a player-plus-cash deal to the French club and it was immediately turned down.
According to Lyon sporting director Juninho Pernambucano, the Gunners offered Matteo Guendouzi but the player didn’t fit the profile of what the club needs at the moment.

Lyon are holding out for £54m for their prized asset Aouar and this is more than the second bid being prepared by Arsenal.
Houssem Aouar has become the top target for Mikel Arteta in recent weeks as the Spanish tactician tries to add more creativity to his midfield.
The 22-year-old has spent the whole of his career at Lyon and he has scored 16 goals in 99 appearances.
Arsenal have been trying to raise funds to sign Aouar in recent weeks.
The Gunners have already lost the services of Emiliano Martinez to Aston Villa in a £20m deal and the likes of Lucas Torreira, Sead Kolasinac and Sokratis Papasthathopoulos could follow the Argentine shot stopper out of the Emirates Stadium door.
