Atletico Madrid reportedly call Arsenal midfielder, raises Partey hope

Sebas Giovanelli has reported that Atletico Madrid manager Diego Simeon personally called Arsenal midfielder Lucas Torreira, informing him of his wish to bring him to Spain this summer transfer window.

It is reported that the Atletico Madrid manager is a big fan of the former Sampdoria midfielder and is interested in bringing him to play in the La Liga this season.

This has raised hopes that the La Liga outfit have resigned their fate in keeping Thomas Partey and will want to have a direct replacement with the Arsenal midfielder who is linked away from the Emirates Stadium.

Reports have listed Lucas Torreira alongside Sokratis Papa, Matteo Guendouzi, Sead Kolasinac as the players that will be leaving the North London club this season.

Diego Simeone’s interest in Lucas Torreira might force Atletico Madrid into accepting Arsenal’s bid for Thomas Partey with reports that the player is now interested in a move to England.

It has been a very busy transfer window for the Gunners and it promises to produce more new signings with manager Mikel Arteta hinting that there could be some deals before the summer window is shut.

All of these will also not happen without having some departures at the club in the coming weeks.
