North London giants Arsenal want to sign two more players before the transfer window closes next month.

This is according to the report from the Daily Mirror which disclosed that the Gunners are targeting two more signings this summer after the contract extension for club skipper Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang was wrapped up earlier in the week.

Aubameyang, 31, was the subject of interest from clubs in Spain and Italy before he signed a two-year contract extension. The Gabonese international now has three years on his present Arsenal contract with the potential to earn the highest salary amongst the current crop of players at the Emirates Stadium.

The Daily Mirror confirmed that Arsenal are targeting midfielders as manager Mikel Arteta wants to reinforce his options in that department.

Thomas Partey and Houssem Aouar are the midfield targets for Arteta and Arsenal this summer.

Atletico Madrid midfielder Partey is interested in the transfer to Arsenal but the club will have to pay his release clause to make a deal happen. The Ghanaian international has a €50m release clause.

For Lyon star Aouar, his French club has slapped a €60m fee on him amidst the interest of Arsenal. The Gunners are said to be preparing a bid of over €40m for hin.
