English journalist Alex Crooks has revealed that Chelsea won’t be able to sign West Ham United star Declan Rice this summer despite the fact that the Blues are pushing for a deal to happen.
Chelsea have spent most of their money on new players in European football this summer but that has not stopped them from pursuing a deal for Declan Rice. Blues manager Frank Lampard is said to be a big admirer of the England international.
TalkSports expert Alex Crook said that Chelsea won’t be able to pull off a deal for Declan Rice as the transfer would require an outrageous offer from the Blues. Recent reports stated that Chelsea will have to spend at least £80m to sign Rice.

The journalist also established that West Ham United owners David Gold and David Sullivan are not ready to face another backlash with the sale of a top player like Declan Rice.
The West Ham owners were heavily criticised when they sold exciting winger Grady Diangana to newly promoted outfit West Bromwich Albion in an £18m and they don’t want a repeat with Declan Rice.
Rice was a Chelsea player before the club released him from the club at the age of 14.
