With Man United agreeing on a new deal with Dean Henderson and confirming he will be staying at the club to fight for a first-team role with David De Gea, Sergio Romero will now fall down the pecking order and that seems unacceptable to the player.

According to reports, he will now seek to leave the club for a new challenge after spending years understudying David De Gea at the Old Trafford and getting the opportunity to play cup competitions.

The Athletic reports that Sergio Romero is already close to the exit door, and he already has offers waiting for him with Aston Villa keen to have his service against the coming season.

The Red Devils have valued Sergio Romero between £8 million and £10 million and Aston Villa are believed to be willing to pay as soon as personal terms are agreed upon.

Last season saw the goalkeeping department for Man United threatened with poor performance as David De Gea was out of form which forced speculations of a move for a new goalkeeper.

It was reported that the Red Devils wanted to land Jan Oblak as a replacement for David De Gea but Atletico Madrid rejected the bid as they value the goalkeeper very high.
