Premier League giants Manchester United have missed out on the opportunity to sign highly-rated Genoa defender Cristian Romero to Italian champions Juventus.

The player had earlier revealed that he would like to play for one of the big four teams in Europe.

Cristian Romero confirmed that he would like to play for clubs like Barcelona, Real Madrid, Juventus and Manchester United.

Italian champions Juventus have signed the player as confirmed by Genoa president Enrico Preziosi.

The transfer fee involved in the move is said to be around €30m.

He has impressed in his 24 appearances in the Italian Serie A this season.

Cristian Romero is yet to play for the Argentine national senior team but he has already represented his country at junior level.

He’s expected to join Juventus later this summer.

Premier League giants Manchester United are looking to bolster their squad defensively but Cristian Romero won’t be the man for the job as he’s set to join Portuguese superstar Cristiano Ronaldo at Juventus.

Cristian Romero will be the second signing for Juventus this summer following the free transfer signing of Aaron Ramsey from Arsenal.

The Welsh international player has signed a pre-contract agreement with the Italian champions and will join them upon the expiration of his current deal at Arsenal.
