EPL: Ghana boss explains why Partey must not join Arsenal

Arsenal’s interest in Atletico Madrid midfielder, Thomas Partey ahead of the summer transfer window is being threatened by the words of Ghana boss, Charles Akonnor.

Thomas Partey is a major target for the Gunners boss, Mikel Arteta as he is keen to add him to the squad to help add depth to the team with negotiation already ongoing.

An asking price of £45 million has been tabled to the Spanish outfit which is being negotiated but the player is reported o be demanding a weekly wage of £200,000 to seal a move to the Emirates Stadium.

While this is still being discussed, Thomas Partey has been told by his Ghana boss not to consider the choice of moving to the North London outfit, stressing that it is not his wish to have that happen.

According to him, leaving the Spanish La Liga outfit to the North London club is a setback to Thomas Partey because he cannot be guaranteed of Champions League football at Arsenal.

He also stressed that Thomas Partey already has his place in the Diego Simeone team sealed but he will have to start again when he gets to the Emirates Stadium to fight for a shirt.

However, discussions are still ongoing as a swap deal is also being considered by the Gunners.
