The latest report claims that Man United will be returning to Sporting CP to secure the signature of their left full-back Nuno Mendes in this summer transfer window.

This is after the Red Devils secured the signature of Bruno Fernandes who has now helped the team to get better. Man United are now hoping that the Portuguese player can work with a familiar player to make his performance better.

According to O JOGO, Solskjaer is not convinced of Brandon Williams’ quality at the left full-back, the reason why he seeks to land the 18-year-old from Sporting CP to create the competition for Luke Shaw in the coming season.

However, Nuno Mendes, who has a contract with the Portuguese outfit until 2025 has a release clause of £40.5 million which the Red Devils must meet before getting the player.

Nuno Mendes has had 7 senior appearances for Sporting CP and has shown a big prospect to excel at the Old Trafford if a deal for him is successful.

It is now unlikely if Man United will be able to pay Nuno Mendes’ release clause because of the slim budget for the summer transfer window and the prospect of paying heavily to secure the signature of Borussia Dortmund winger Jadon Sancho.
