Arsenal’s interest in French Ligue 1 outfit Nice centre-back Malang Sarr could just be a mere wish as they seem to have lost the race even before it began.

The Sun reports that the Gunners team failed to submit a bid for the French U-21 international in good time as their approach has been described as being too late.

The North London outfit have suffered inefficiency in the defence and has hoped to bring in Malang Sarr to add to the quality of new recruit, William Saliba for next season’s challenge but that will not be happening if claims by The Sun are anything to go by.

While it is already confirmed that Malang Sarr would be leaving Nice this summer window, it is reported that clubs in Germany and Italy have already gone ahead by submitting offers for the defender which would be considered.

Malang Sarr, who has enjoyed about 100 Ligue 1 appearances, is expected to move on with the German Bundesliga as a preferred destination due to the chances of playing regularly.

However, the names of the clubs with offers for Malang Sarr was not named in the report but obviously, the Gunners seem to have lost out for coming late.
