Liverpool defender Virgil van Dijk has revealed that he almost made a major mistake that would have cost his career.

Virgil van Dijk joined Liverpool from Southampton in 2018 for £75 million and has since experienced a turnaround in his career.

From being nominated as the best football player in the world to winning the Champions League and now the Premier League.

The star player noted that all of these wouldn’t have happened if he had made a wrong choice on his career.

This, he said,l after revealing that Chelsea also made an offer for him which was also considered until he heard from manager Jurgen Kopp.

Virgil van Dijk stated that clubs that approached him had a good team and history, forcing him to consider the managers.

He found manager Jurgen Klopp more inviting, revealing that the German boss has excellent man-management skills which were very important.

Virgil van Dijk added that Jurgen Klopp will always hug players and relate with them better than others which helps to bring the best out of them.

Man United and Chelsea were also interested in the defender but failed to secure his signature as Liverpool won the race, all thanks to manager Jurgen Klopp’s conviction.
