Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp will reportedly hand new summer signing Sepp Van Der Berg the chance to impress in preseason.

This according to the publication from ReadLiverpool which claimed that the young Dutch centre back will start preseason with the Reds ahead of the new season billed to start in five weeks’ time.

Sepp Van Der Berg became the one and only signing of the summer at Liverpool towards the end of last month.

The Reds paid £1.5m to secure his signing from Dutch Eredivisie club PEC Zwolle.

Van Der Berg has featured in a lot of games in top flight football despite his tender age.

The 17-year-old made 23 appearances for PEC Zwolle in the Dutch Eredivisie and also helped the club to survive relegation during the just concluded season.

Sepp Van Der Berg will have the chance to shine alongside fellow young Dutch centre back Ki-Jana However when preseason resumes on Saturday at the Melwood training ground of Liverpool.

The target for Liverpool and manager Jurgen Klopp is to perform better than last season.

16 players including Sepp Van Der Berg are pencilled in for training on Saturday.

Liverpool won the Champions League title and also pushed champions Manchester City to the finish line in the Premier League.
