Manchester United have made a breakthrough in their quest to sign Sporting Lisbon midfielder Bruno Fernandes after they agreed a transfer fee for him.
According to widespread reports in the British media, Bruno Fernandes will be a Manchester United player before the end of this week after the two clubs reached an agreement for him to move to Old Trafford
The specific report from the Daily Express said that Manchester United have agreed an initial fee of £46m plus £7.5m in add-ons.
The transfer also includes bonuses of around £12.7m thus making it a total of £66.2m.
Manchester United had been in talks with Sporting Lisbon for the better part of this month before the agreement was reached earlier this week.

Sporting Lisbon skipper Bruno Fernandes has been at the club since 2017 when he joined from Italian side Sampdoria.
Bruno Fernandes became an household name in European football after his sensational campaign during the 2018/19 season.
The 25-year-old scored 32 goals for Sporting Lisbon in all competitions last season.
In addition, Bruno Fernandes made 18 assists for Sporting Lisbon.
He was part of the Portugal squad that won the UEFA Nations League last year.
Portugal beat the Netherlands 1-0 to win the competition on home soil.
