Sporting Lisbon midfielder Bruno Fernandes has finally delivered his verdict on the various transfer reports linking him with a transfer to the Premier League.

Bruno Fernandes broke his silence on those rumours in a chat with Portuguese TV station SIC.

According to him, the Premier League has always been his preferred destination.

The latest development will definitely be music to the ears of Manchester United fans who are desperate for the club to get the deal for Bruno Fernandes over the line.

Spanish champions Barcelona were latecomers to the Bruno Fernandes transfer this week and that could have prompted Manchester United to act fast in their bid to secure the signing of the 25-year-old Portuguese international.

Bruno Fernandes is said to be closing in on a move to Old Trafford after Manchester United made an improved bid for him.

The Portuguese midfielder is expected in Manchester for his medical later this week.

Bruno Fernandes has been at Sporting Lisbon since joining the Portuguese Super League club from Sampdoria in the Italian Serie A three years ago.

The Sporting Lisbon skipper might have played his last game for the club during the league game at home to Maritimo on Monday night.
