Manchester United have drawn up a four-man managerial shortlist in the event that manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is booted out of his job.

Solskjaer has come under serious pressure in recent days but the word out of Old Trafford is that Manchester United bosses still believe that the club legend has what it takes to turn things around after a difficult week.

Senior Manchester United bosses want to back him with new players but that could change if results continue to dwindle.

Manchester United have lost their last two league games against arch-rivals Liverpool and Burnley and that has seen their charge for a top-four place fade.

Those two results came on the back of the injury suffered by Marcus Rashford who’s the leading goalscorer in the team with 19 goals in all competitions.

Rashford will not return to action until two months’ time.

For now, Manchester United have a four-man shortlist of managers to replace Ole Gunnar Solskjaer if the club pulled the trigger.

According to The Times, Ex-Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino heads that list alongside current England national team boss Gareth Southgate.

RB Leipzig manager Julian Nagelsmann is also on the shortlist as well as Paris Saint Germain (PSG) manager Thomas Tuchel.
