It was stated that Manchester United is confident that the German international will sign for Manchester United despite his affiliation with Premier League table-toppers Liverpool.

Earlier reports had disclosed that the player is not keen to join Manchester United from Juventus due to his loyalty to Liverpool whom he played for before leaving the Premier League for Italy at the start of the 2018/19 campaign.

Emre Can played for Liverpool for four years upon joining them from Bayer Leverkusen in the German Bundesliga.

The German midfielder wore the Liverpool shirt between 2014 and 2018 before the free transfer move to  Italian champions Juventus.

His last game for Liverpool was the 2018 Champions League final loss to Real Madrid.

He has also been linked with both Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund in the German top flight.

The £25m-rated Juventus midfielder has rarely featured for the Old Lady under manager Maurizio Sarri and was left out of the Champions League squad last year.

Manchester United are looking for reinforcements to their squad after injuries to a lot of key players.
