Arsenal have been dealt a big transfer blow following the news that they are set to miss out on one of their midfield targets.
Atletico Paranaense star Bruno Guimares has been on the radar of Arsenal in the past months but it looks like the player will be heading to France and not North London after French Ligue 1 club Lyon agreed on a deal to sign him.
As reported by French media portal L’Equipe, Lyon have reached an agreement to sign the 22-year-old midfielder for €25m this month.
It was also revealed that Lyon will now discuss personal terms with the player after the French giants reached an agreement with his Brazilian Serie A club over his transfer.

Lyon were able to overcome the hurdle of his club retaining some of his economic rights to reach a transfer fee agreement.
Earlier reports had claimed that Arsenal would make a move for the Brazilian midfielder in the summer. This was before other clubs showed interest in signing him this month.
The interest of other European teams like Benfica and Lyon forced the Gunners to the negotiation table but it seems that would be enough to secure the signing of the player with Champions League campaigners Lyon primed to seal his transfer.
