The 25-year-old has been a scoring machine for Sporting Lisbon in the last two seasons including the last campaign which ended with him netting 32 goals in all competitions thereby breaking the record of Chelsea legend Frank Lampard as the highest-scoring midfielder in a single season.
Frank Lampard scored 27 goals for the Blues from midfield during the 2009/10 season.
Manchester United have lacked a goalscoring midfielder this season and Bruno Fernandes can provide that spark for the Red Devils from the middle of the park.
For now, Bruno Fernandes remains a Sporting Lisbon player pending the agreement of the transfer fee with Manchester United.
