Liverpool star Georginio Wijnaldum has stated that his teammate Mohamed Salah must be consistent in order to regain the recognition he had last season.
Expressing delight that the Egyptian international is back from injury and now scoring goals, Wijnaldum stated that more of it must be done consistently in order to prove that he is still the best.
It would be recalled that the former AS Roma forward scored a total of 44 goals in 52 games last season and that helped his side to reach the Champions League finals where they were defeated by Real Madrid as well as a second place finish.
Salah, therefore, started this season very slowly which drew criticisms and concerns that he might not be able to replicate last season’s success but that narrative is now changing with the fact that he has continued to hit goals.
He was on the scoresheet in the last game and the win against Red Stars in the Champions League and that is why his teammate, Wijnaldum said more has to be done in order to shame his critics.
However, the Egyptian has set a record in Liverpool’s history by scoring a total of 50 goals in 65 appearances in the Red shirt. No Liverpool player has ever scored that number of goals within a short time frame.
