Manchester United have reportedly made contact with Italian Serie A giants Napoli over the signing of their star player Kalidou Koulibaly.
According to Foot Mercato, Manchester United have been quoted €75m (£64m) to sign the Senegalese international and that they will face European competition in their bid to seal the transfer for the player.
Napoli have some sort of financial difficulties thus prompting the Italians to be open to the sale of the player regarded as one of the best centre backs in European football.
Other teams like Real Madrid, Paris Saint Germain (PSG) and Manchester City are also interested in the 28-year-old defender.

Manchester United were interested in a move for Kalidou Koulibaly while he was at Belgian top flight outfit Genk before the Senegalese defender opted to move to Napoli in 2014.
He has spent almost six years at Napoli where the Senegalese international centre back has become one of the best three central defenders in world football.
Manchester United spent a lot of money defensively last summer and it is still far from being the finished product.
A move for Kalidou Koulibaly would go a long way to strengthen the Red Devils defence centrally alongside new skipper Harry Maguire.
