The ex-Spurs manager has been a long-term transfer target for Manchester United dating back to his time as a Premier League manager.
Manchester United were said to have targeted Mauricio Pochettino especially when the club sacked Jose Mourinho in December 2018 but the Red Devils opted to go the Ole Gunnar Solskjaer route.
Solskjaer was given the Manchester United job on a temporary basis before the former Premier League striker was handed the managerial job at Old Trafford permanently.
The pressure is mounting on Solskjaer to keep his job as the Manchester United manager especially with the availability of Mauricio Pochettino who has been without a job since his dismissal as the Spurs manager in November 2019.
