Italian giants AS Roma have seen their offer for Liverpool midfielder Xerdan Shaqiri rejected by the Premier League table-toppers.
The AS Roma offer for Shaqiri was confirmed by popular Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano via his official Twitter account.
It was revealed that Roma want to take Xerdan Shaqiri on loan until the end of this season but they were met with firm resistance from Liverpool as club manager Jurgen Klopp wants to count on the Swiss international with a busy schedule coming up as from next month when the Champions League resumes.

AS Roma see Xerdan Shaqiri as the replacement for the injured Nicolo Zaniolo who will miss the next six months at least after the young Italian national team player injured his knee.
Italian winger Zaniolo sustained the serious right knee injury during the game against Juventus in the league at the weekend.
The 20-year-old player is now a big doubt for the Italian team for the upcoming 2020 European Championships across various venues across the continent.
Zaniolo and Roma were beaten 2-1 at home by Juventus as the Old Lady returned to the top of the table after the slip up from Inter Milan on Saturday, 24 hours earlier from the Roma-Juventus clash.
