These are trying times for Manchester United fans who are desperate for the club to get the Bruno Fernandes deal over the line but they might have to wait a little longer according to the Daily Mirror.

The deal was expected to be done latest by Tuesday but that might change due to the fixture list of Sporting Lisbon.

The Bruno Fernandes transfer might be delayed until after the Benfica game on Friday.

Sporting Lisbon officials want him to play in the biggest game of the season for the club before his move to Old Trafford is sealed.

He has already agreed to a £65,000 weekly contract at Manchester United over the next five years.

Bruno Fernandes would be one of the lowest earners amongst the senior players at Old Trafford if he was able to secure the transfer to Manchester United.

Tottenham Hotspur also want to sign him but the Portuguese international favours a move to Manchester United at the expense of the North Londoners.

Bruno Fernandes would undoubtedly add a goalscoring threat from midfield for a Manchester United side whose midfielders don’t score enough goals.

The Red Devils have been overreliant on forward Marcus Rashford who has scored 19 goals in all competitions.

Fellow forwards Anthony Martial and Mason Greenwood have also supported with goals.
